Chicago residents will never look at buying a car – or their skyline – quite the same.
Omnichannel car retailer Carvana is debuting its newest “car vending machine” in Chicago. Standing eight stories tall and holding up to 27 vehicles, the coin-operated, all-glass structure offers physical pick-up for customers who purchase their vehicle on Carvana.com. Customers can shop more than 15,000 vehicles online, including financing, purchasing, trade-in, and scheduling as-soon-as-next-day delivery or car vending machine pick-up.
Customers that choose pick-up at the car vending machine receive a commemorative, oversized Carvana coin to activate the vending process, which takes minutes. The Chicago location, Carvana’s 17th car vending machine in the U.S., features new design elements that allow shoppers to view their purchased vehicle being vended from a variety of new angles.
Today, Carvana also launched as-soon-as-next-day vehicle delivery in three additional markets: Rockford, Ill., Ann Arbor, Mich. and Kalamazoo, Mich. Instead of a traditional test drive, Carvana offers customers a seven-day return policy.
"We launched in the Chicagoland area less than two years ago,” said Ernie Garcia, founder and CEO of Carvana. “We’re proud to see customers enjoy our new way to buy a car and looking forward to making car buying even more fun and exciting with our newest Car Vending Machine. Additionally, offering as-soon-as-next-day delivery to customers in Rockford, Ann Arbor and Kalamazoo today showcases our commitment to bringing easy, transparent car buying to even more customers in the Midwest.”
Additional car vending machines are located in cities across Texas, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, Maryland, Arizona, Ohio, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.
