According to retail expo, Pet Supplies Plus has partnered with DoorDash to execute same-day deliveries, according to a Tuesday announcement.
Through the collaboration, customers can get pet products delivered from 720 Pet Supplies Plus locations. The retailer offers products for cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, fish and other small animals.
DashPass members can order products from Pet Supplies Plus products without additional delivery fees, per the press release.
According to retail expo, with the addition of Pet Supplies Plus, DoorDash is adding more pet retailers to its roster of partners, including PetSmart and PetCo. Beyond the pet category, DoorDash has add other non-food companies to its delivery lineup, such as Best Buy, Staples, Sephora, Victoria’s Secret and Party City.
“Innovation continues to be a top priority for our brand as we assess how else we can meet the needs of our neighbors,” Chris Rowland, CEO of Pet Supplies Plus, said in a statement. “This new partnership with DoorDash provides another option for our neighbors to get what they need to give their pets a happy and healthy life.”
In 2021, Franchise Group bought Pet Supplies Plus for about $700 million in cash, placing it in a portfolio of sister companies Wag N Wash, The Vitamin Shoppe, Buddy’s Home Furnishings and American Freight. According to retail expo, last year Pet Supplies Plus and Wag N Wash expanded its footprint through the acquisition of 20 Loyal Companion Pet Stores from parent company Independent Pet Partners.
