Greater China Award Contest of 2018, jointly sponsored by CHINASHOP and SHOP, meets its fervent beginning again. Owing to the sensational effect brought by the two sides’ successful cooperation, masses of retail enterprises, brand businesses and store environment solutions providers have been greatly intrigued by the contest long before its arrival. In terms of the awards setting, more trends on the Chinese retail industry’s development are blended into the themes of this year’s contest. Making its debut in the United States in 1958, Shop! Greater China Award Contest is initiated by SHOP. Upon its 60 years’ development, the contest has become one of the largest yet the most time-honored events internationally. With an honorary title “Oscar-Level Grand Award for Creating International Store Environment”, Shop! Greater China Award Contest is held annually in more than 20 countries across the world, appealing to the contestants from thousands of top retail enterprises, brand businesses and business design solution providers all at once with over 100 thousand entries for the contest in total. Based on the principle of choosing the best among the best, one point is worth mentioning, that is there are opportunities for the entries winning gold awards to enter into the worldwide evaluation and selection by competing with their counterparts from more than 20 countries; likewise, the contest creates opportunities for the entries and their corresponding enterprises to present and highlight themselves at the stage of world.

The contest made its formal entrance into the mainland of China in 2016. Subsequently, CHINASHOP and SHOP officially reached cooperation in 2017 to host the annual contest jointly in the China, marking the first time for the contest to be held in a cooperative way with other organization. Looking back on the contest of 2017, it drew in hundreds of entries from many retail enterprises. Among the participating enterprises, Omega, Clarins, Longines, Freshhema, Wangfujing Group, BBG Group, P&G, The Music Language, Erie and Mengniu Diary respectively achieved excellent performance in the contest. Based on the two sides’ fruitful cooperative experience in hosting the previous year’s contest, CHINASHOP and SHOP has made more specific divisions on the categories for the works in accordance to the Chinese retail market’s features and the international retail industry’s developmental trend in preparation for the contest of 2018, aimed at helping connect more Chinese retail enterprises with global retail industry and unfolding the glamour of Chinese retail industry before the whole world via the forthcoming contest in 2018.

Entries’ Categories for Shop! Greater China Award Contest

This session of contest comprises the technologies, crafts, apps and applied terminals involved in the brands retail demands, marketing, showcase and layouts; all the awards will be issued to a total of 18 categories containing 35 key words in retail industry. With a method of adopting the joint evaluation, a group of domestic and international judges will review and selecting all the entries entering into the contest to determine the winners for the gold, silver and bronze awards in every category.

The gold awards in all the categories will be nominated to enter into the global review and selection held in Chicago, the United States in June, 2019, thereby contending with the other gold-award entries from more than 20 countries for the international grand trophy.

Requirements for the Enterprises Expecting to Sign up for the Contest are as follows,

The following are for the enterprises participating in the contest to notice,

Notice 1-The entries must be the projects or products conceived, planned, designed and generated in the Chinese mainland by the enterprises qualified to the contest.

Notice 2-The entries must be the products or projects successfully put into the market in the period of year from 2017 to 2018.

Notice 3-Any enterprise in the capacity of Part B must receive its client’s authorization prior to participating in the contest. If the entries provided by the Part B enterprise wins award, the enterprise and its client will be awarded trophy. In that case, its client could be invited to attend the award ceremony.

The contest will adopt the method of cross review among the Chinese and western judges to evaluate and select entries anonymously. By way of preliminary examination and re-examination, the gold, silver and bronze awards are finalized; throughout the process of evaluation and selection, equity and authoritativeness are well guaranteed.
