Better Life Group

Better Life Group (with BBG as its abbreviation) enjoys a large-scale business format, covering merchandise trade, retailing, e-commerce, real estate, financing, logistics and supply chain. In terms of the chain retail industry, Better Life Group has been taking leading position in the provinces of Hunan and Guangxi, China. In the regions such as Hunan, Guangxi, Jiangxi, Sichuan and Chongqing, it has multi-format layouts including supermarkets, department stores, and specialty stores for household appliance; especially in the southwestern region of China, it has enjoyed extremely strong recognition and influence of brand among the local consumers.

Currently, the group is focused on 2 aspects of its business; one is to consistently digitize its customers, the other is to digitize its supply chain, or to say deepening the reconstitution of its supply chain. By the year to date, the purchasing method based on scanning bar codes has been available in more than 100 store entities of its subordinates.

On the occasion of annual “August 18’s Hi Shopping Festival”, Better Life Group achieved a boundless retail mode by the integration of the online and the offline. The achievement is attributed to its strategic cooperation with Dada-JD Daojia, a platform committed to city-wide express delivery information service and unbounded retail instant consumption. Dozens of its store entities located in the cities, such as Changsha, Chengdu, Nanning and Xiangtan collectively participated in the festival and set a new sales record on August 18, 2018. Compared with the daily average sales in July, 2018, the sales volume achieved on the day increased by 734%. Within the 4 months of the 2 sides’ cooperation, the operational mode of unbounded retail instant consumption came into shape, opened up the online and offline channels, and created a collaborative model for the regional retailer to achieve unbounded retailing business. As Tian Wang the board chairman of Better Life Group denoted, “In the future, Better Life Group will work more closely with Dada-JD Daojia to reshape market boundary, improve operational efficiency and further realize the digital transformation of every store entity subordinate to Better Life Group via the energy endowed by new retail fashion.”

Aside from Dada-JD Daojia, Better Life Group has been in collaboration with Jingdong Group. The first store Jingdong Home under the 2 sides’ cooperation made its debut on June 16, 2018 with its location inside the BBG Center subordinate to Better Life Group in Changsha City. Ever since June 9, 2018, Better Life Group has been one of the key partners of Jingdong Group’s “Jing Chao Program”; the first one to join the program is the Red Star store entity subordinate to Better Life Group in Changsha City, China. Successively, other store entities under Better Life Group will enter the program, according to which, the orders made by consumers on Jingdong Self-Operation Platform can be transferred to the corresponding store entities subordinate to Better Life Group based on the specific rules of delivery distance. This program enables consumers to enjoy the high-quality commodities of Better Life Group along with the fast delivery service by Jingdong Group. According to the cooperation agreement signed previously, Better Life Group and Jingdong Group will keep carrying out detailed and in-depth collaboration, involving offline stores, online flagship stores, logistics and big data.

Located in Yuelu District, Changsha City, Hunan Province, China, the commercial complex BBG Center subordinate to Better Life Group has a total of 700 thousand square meters in area, with its commodity and business format positioned as the domestic and overseas premium brands, covering supermarket, household appliance, department store, catering, cinema, space flying experience museum, ice rink and the national first O2O online library available for the global people who pursue better quality of life. Owing to the commercial enablement from Tencent on April 4, 2018, the BBG Center acquired a series of new payment tools such as the checkout methods based on bar code scanning, membership registration and facial scanning. From January to August, the whole BBG Center increased by 4.3 times in the growth of digital business. By the end of August, the BBG Center had possessed 130 thousand customers of membership in total.

As smart household appliance store subordinate to Better Life Group, Songde Electronics is located on Floor L3 of Better Life Group’s BBG Center in Meixi Commercial Circle, Xiangjiang New District, Changsha City, Hunan Province. Songde Electronics sells all categories of household appliance, and provides the service of experiencing exclusive smart home designs as well as the area for VR experience. Undoubtedly, this kind of spacious environment filled with smart yet all-around electronics products elevates customers’ experience and interaction. In addition to the rich categories of products, there are many novel “black technologies” beyond the public knowledge scope distributed in all corners of the store with a little over 500 square meters in area. If customers enter the store, they can get qualification to membership by scanning their faces, and then learn about the interesting analysis on the products they prefer; the smart body sensors inside the store cannot only identify the genders of users but also recommend well-matched yet personalized products available at the store to consumers; when it comes to checkout, customers only spend 2 seconds making the payment by facial scanning. On one hand, those “black technologies” can serve the terminal consumers in a more humanized manner; on the other, they offer strong support to the development and operation of the store.

It is worth mentioning that Better Life Group has been accelerating the layouts of its urban multi-format commercial complex across China. With family and fashion oriented, its layouts of commercial format are aimed at meeting the different needs of consumer crowd in the aspects of time, purpose and shopping experience, and building up a cozy yet healthy third living space between home and workplace.
