On the evening of January 17, Walmart China announced that the first batch of 29 hypermarkets in 8 cities across the country had been upgraded, bringing customers a new shopping experience with many valuable differentiated products and new products, and a brighter and more transparent environment. According to the Beijing News, Walmart China will continue to renovate 40 to 50 stores in 2024.
It is reported that the new Walmart China store shopping environment is more comfortable, the channel is wider and smoother, and the display of goods is more concise. Compared with the previous stores, the number of items in the newly upgraded stores has been reduced by half. Walmart China has added five new areas offline, including seasonal commodity area, local specialty area, global shopping and Wo shopping area, pet supplies area, flower area, etc., and increased the input of tasting to make offline shopping better. The new global shopping area in the store allows customers to visit "duty-free shops" in the supermarket and place orders immediately on their mobile phones. In the rental area outside the store, Walmart China has introduced catering, parent-child entertainment, flowers, hairdressing salons and other service businesses to complement Walmart China and create a comprehensive ecosystem integrating shopping, catering, entertainment and services.
