Beijing Chaoshifa Chain Store Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred as to CSF) is a Chinese national renowned supermarket chain enterprise and one of the top 100 enterprises in Chinese chain industry. With “CSF Market” as its logo and brand, CSF’s main business scope covers daily life necessities including fresh produce, products of husbandry, poultry & fishery, general merchandise, food and household supplies, as well as the retail and wholesale of the brand commodities through its agency. So far, CSF has formed 4 commercial formats such as hypermarket, food supermarket, community-based supermarket and community-based vegetable market. Currently, it has more than 100 chain store entities, radiating to 8 districts in Beijing City, as well as Zhangjiakou City in Hebei Province and Xuanhua Region with a total operating area of 170 thousand square meters. Not merely a chain supermarket, CSF is a systematic commercial complex, composed of wholesale, logistics & distribution and Nongda vegetable markets as well as training center. It is worth mentioning that its base for logistics & distribution is more than 30 thousand square meters in area, with an aggregate warehouse area of nearly 6000 square meters for fresh-keeping storage at low and constant temperatures.

By placing the fresh produce of farming, forestry, husbandry, poultry and fishery at the primary position of its business, CSF targets residential communities as destinations for its business operation, and spares no effort to create a reassuring, cozy, safe and barrier-free shopping environment for consumers.

By the year to date, CSF has accomplished upgrade and transformation on 5 of its store entities. Aside from elevating shopping environment, it has been researching consumption habits of customer groups in pursuit of “different store entities operated in various retail formats”. Among the store entities upgraded and transformed, the one located in Shuangyushu (literally translated as Double-Elm) in Haidian District, Beijing is a typical representative. Once, the store entity was praised as King for sales per square meter. There are 9 hypermarkets within a radius of 2 kilometers around the store entity, forming a situation of siege to its business. In that unfavorable situation, the store of CSF in Double-Elm set a record by achieving annual sales of over 300 million CNY for several consecutive years though its operating area was only slightly over 4000 square meters. Upon the upgrade and transformation, more fashionable sense is fully manifested through its storefront and interior designs. Scene-based displays and POP designs are added to the store entity; synchronously, the division of different areas inside the store is more practical. This naturally brings pleasure and comfort feelings to its consumers. In addition to enlarging the area for fresh products of farming, forestry, husbandry, poultry and fishery, CSF cut the overall merchandise category of the store down by 10% to a nearly 10 thousand SKU. Besides, the aisles inside the store are widened and the distance of corridors is shortened. Moreover, an area of around 200 square meters for LEGO products is laid out at the store. By introducing LEGO project, CSF intends to guide the parents born in the period of 1980s to 1990s to putting their cell phones aside and playing LEGO with their children. Furthermore, the technology facilities such as self-service checkout equipment, self-help weighing apparatus, face identification lockers are adopted by the store, conveying a signal to consumers that life around us is changing and elevating constantly.

Apart from upgrading and transforming its own business formats, CSF has been working closely with LAWSON to launch convenience stores. By now, the 2 sides have opened 18 convenience stores in total. The latest convenience store, based on the 2 sides’ cooperation, opened to the public on September 19, located on Caihefang Road in Haidian District, Beijing. In the convenience store are various fast foods such as the foodstuff on stick immersed in simmered soup, rice & vegetable rolls, sushi, sandwich, salad, freshly ground coffee brewed, and freshly processed soybean milk available, meeting the needs of the surrounding fast paced life.

In the years to come, CSF will keep dedicated to the commercial development of communities.
