Two definitions of new retail

 Chinashop will be held in Kunming from November 1st to 3rd

Now the concept of new retail is very hot. There are many ideas for new retail in the venture capital circle. Everyone has different interpretations of new retail, and there are also differences in cognition. I divide the new retail into two levels: broad and narrow.

Broadly speaking, innovation in retail can be called new retail;

In the narrow new retail, I made a standard definition in the recently published "The Future of New Retail", which is a two-way traffic service retail with improved technology-driven efficiency.

The interpretation of narrow retail can be viewed in three ways. First of all, no matter how the new retail develops, it is still retail in nature, and retail needs to sell a large number of different kinds of goods, which needs to be a hodgepodge platform. 20 SKUs are not retail, it is a chain format, so the new retail must be really retail.

Second, what is bidirectional traffic is actually O2O. However, whether it is Online or Offline, it is necessary to carry out deeper evolution in the original logic, pay attention to the integration of online and offline, and realize the flow of online and offline integration.

Third, service retail refers to the integration of formats. For example, when we sell goods, the traffic reaches the bottleneck. If we want to continue to increase the flow, we can put together the experience, entertainment, and education by increasing the service flow, and use those traffic to be responsible for our retail.

Now the new retail has extended many concepts, such as Alibaba called new retail, Jingdong called unbounded retail, Suning called smart retail, the name is different, but the logic and the kernel are the same, essentially want to combine online and offline, further Get traffic and increase cost efficiency. After the online connection is down, the channel that it realizes can be extended through the supply chain.
